Sandy Galin

Director of Development

Sandy Galin has more than 20 years of non-profit experience in advancement and development, including major gifts, capital campaigns, grant writing, public and community relations, marketing, alumni relations, data management, and special events.

She previously worked as the Director of Advancement at CAREGIVERS: Volunteers Assisting the Elderly, and at the California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks (CMATO), and Studio Channel Islands Art Center (SCI) in Camarillo, CA. She was the Director of Development & Marketing at the New West Symphony and worked in higher education development at CSUN, Pacific Oaks College and Children’s School, Occidental College and the (former) UCLA School of Social Welfare.

Sandy has a lifelong belief that it is important for each of us to lend a helping hand to help others improve their lives. It is that value that drew her to The Greater Contribution to help raise funds to eliminate poverty by providing micro loans, education, business skills and mentoring to empower women in Uganda. She is excited to be part of an organization that gives women the opportunity and tools needed to transform their lives and the lives of their families, friends and villages.

In addition to her experience in professional development, Sandy worked in radio as a news director, anchor, producer and voice-over announcer. She also has a career as a professional soloist and choral musician. Sandy toured nationally and internationally with a number of choral groups and was fortunate to sing background in the Stephen Spielberg movies, Home Alone and Empire of the Sun.

Sandy currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Wagner Ensemble, and moved from the Board of Directors of Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble to their Advisory Board.
